I bought this mandoline to replace another that I have already. I like this one better because it has Quick shipping! The card that came with the shipment said there may be a minor smell and to soak them for 24hours.. I didnt smell anything but I still soaked them for good measure before using. The bags have some weight to them and the material feels thick and sturdy so they are definitely durable. The bags come in 3sizes and honestly, you can put just about anything in them since the are reusable and can withstand some heat. I mainly use them to store fruits and veggies for smoothie prep but I am looking forward to using them to store other products. I am very pleased with these bags and the quality. These will replace my ziploc bags!
