on being transparent

Updated: Apr 24, 2019

I am not a fan of selfies... and clearly, I am not good at taking them. LOL. I hope you’ll look past that as I try to be TRANSPARENT. Yeah, I will admit, I was one of those people who would say “I don’t want to lift weights because I don’t want my legs to get any bigger.”

I was ignorant. I was wrong. If I had only known what I know now. Did you know that only 12% of women lift weights??

Did you know that women ages 35-55 GAIN 2.2lbs/year (mostly fat)??? Couple that with the fact that the average women (ages 45-65) lose 5lbs lean body mass per decade? How can you combat that my friends???

Whole Foods, Balanced Nutrition + Weight Resistance + Moderate Cardio. Yup, that’s the simple answer. Incorporating weight resistance, and I mean more than those 5lb dumbbells ladies, will help you maintain your lean body mass which is your ticket to burning kcals and a healthy metabolism.

So, getting back to that wive’s tale about your legs getting bigger… For the record, fat takes up more volume than muscle.

TRUTH! In the 4 years that I have been bodybuilding, my lean body mass in my legs has increased and my body fat has decreased and yet the total circumference is smaller. Yeah, you can reduce the size of your legs by eating like a bird and destroying your metabolism, but you will not like the aesthetic. If you have never had to struggle to keep the weight off until recently, I encourage you to revamp your diet and start lifting!!
