Tricia McMurtray

I have always struggled with my weight, but lately it had gotten to the point that nothing I had tried on my own was working. I was an active person and worked out on my own, but no matter what I tried I wasn’t seeing any changes in my body or able to lose the weight. I spoke to a friend of mine who is a personal trainer and gym owner in my local area and she recommended that I contact Kelly. I will admit that I was skeptical at first and didn’t want to admit that I needed the help, but I reached out to her anyways to find out more about her services and what she could to help me lose the weight and get back into the shape that I once was.

I started out as a coaching client with Kelly Killen on March 1, 2016 with the intensions of trying it for a few months to see how things went. I, like most people, still had my doubts about whether this process was going to work for me based on my past. Kelly has a no fail policy, so as long as I followed the process that she put in place for me there was no way that I would not see any results. This is definitely not a quick fix plan like most people are wanting, but you have to invest in yourself to get the lifetime results instead of instant gratification. One thing that is different about Kelly is that she has a hands on approach and checks in with you daily to see how you are doing o your plan and if you are having any struggles. This is one benefit that you will not get from many places and definitely one that makes KK Wellness unique.

When I first got started with my custom nutrition plan that Kelly designed based on my specifics needs and goals, I didn’t think I would ever be able to eat all of that food. I quickly got over that and now look forward to the next meal. I have learned through this process that whole food is fuel for the body and you have to put good food in to get results back. There were times where I really didn’t want to eat anymore, but I knew that I wasn’t doing my body any favors by not eating and just kept reminding myself of the next goal that I was trying to attain. Through this lifestyle change, you are constantly working towards a goal and when you reach it you set a new one for yourself so you never lose track of where you want to be. As humans, if we have something to work for or towards, we will continue working to reach it and not give up. On the other hand, you have to remember that you need to set attainable goals for yourself so you don’t set yourself up for failure.

I continued in the coaching model with KK Wellness until November 1, 2016 when I stepped down and went on my own. I felt that I was ready for this and Kelly believed that I had learned what I needed to in order to succeed on my own. I continued to follow my meal plan and have been able to reach my goal weight and maintain it. I started out coaching with Kelly weighing 211lbs and through her coaching and my hard work I have lost 60lbs. Kelly told me in the beginning that she thought I would end up being a size 6 when I reached my goal. In the back of my mind I didn’t believe it because I had never been a solid size 6 ever in my life. I will gladly admit that I was wrong because in 8 months of working with Kelly and following her plan I was able to reach my maintenance weight of 150-155 and am able to wear a size 6 comfortably. Since reaching maintenance, I have set new goals and am now working to lean out and tone up my body with the new goal of resetting at 145 and possibly down to a size 2 of 4. I know that this is an attainable goal, but there is no timeline as to when I will reach this. It is a lifestyle journey and one that you work at every single day. There is no end in sight which is what makes the methods that Kelly and KKW teaches a success.

Through everything that I have learned from Kelly, Kayla, and KK Wellness in general, I have also started to think about new goals for the future. I am working to improve my overall fitness so I can complete the many mud run obstacle course races that I do with my husband and friends. At the same time I am starting to look into the possibility of getting certified as a personal trainer so that I can pass along the knowledge and success that I have learned to others. I have always enjoyed working out, but through this process I have rediscovered that passion and plan to pursue it.

I cannot thank KK Wellness enough for what they have helped me to achieve so far as well as what I will be able to achieve going forward with the knowledge I have gained. I have made many new friendships along the way as well which is another added bonus to this process. It truly helps you succeed when you surround yourself with likeminded people.

I started a little over a year ago. I was constantly going to the doctor for my Asthma and being told by the nurse that my blood pressure was high, my cholesterol was high, or my weight had gone up. My mother had similar health issue and was in a nursing home. In the back of my mind,

I knew that if I kept going down the same path my fate would be the same as hers. I had gotten to my heaviest weight of 210 pounds, so I started to consistently go to the gym. After getting to what seemed to fluctuate between 188-182 lbs. it seemed as though I hit a plateau. I did countless hours of cardio each week with no real changes. I knew the difference was in my eating habits, but didn't know the proper portions I needed to get healthy.

I saw Kelly's Facebook page, so I figured, “Why not? Take a chance! What do you have to lose, other than pounds, right? So I decided to inbox her and this seems to be one of the best decisions of my life. I guess you could really call this a leap of faith.

We had a meeting to discuss the particulars, but I found myself nervous. Being an introvert, she was patient with me to develop my own level of TRUST with her. I knew that I would have to be straight up with her at all times in order for this to work. I am a picky eater and Kelly was able to help me come up with a plan tailored just for ME. She made the necessary adjustments when needed to keep my metabolism going and the pounds just kept going away. She kept telling me that “It's about being IN the RACE and not to focus on the finish line”. I am definitely grateful of her approach in helping me stay consistently steady with my plans and found that I didn't have any stretch marks on my tummy. I was able to reach my original goal of 150 pounds and surpassed it by making a new one, by preparing me for my 1st Bikini Competition, May of 2015. She has definitely been there at the worst point of my life and helped me reach my personal best so far. She has helped me stay accountable and now I'm making my own decisions regarding my meals. This is my lifestyle and knowing that she is still just a phone or text away is the great part. She is the best fit for me and an AWESOME COACH!!!

My plan and the coaching I've gotten from coach Kelly has been life changing. It's been one amazing road since we've started together and it's been one of the best parts of my journey. I've never felt more at peace with who I am right where I am. Realizing I'm not where I'm going to be yet but i have found myself. Knowing that with the right nutrition I am unstoppable. I am so thankful that my story this far has been able to inspire and encourage family and friends and even some strangers. God is good and he's using all of us and that's for sure!

I started my lifestyle journey with Kelly in January 2015. I had reached a point in my life where I needed to make a change and I wanted to feel better about myself, and my weight really bothered me. I tried to change some of my eating habits and workout off and on, but I still struggled to lose weight on my own. When I first talked with Kelly, she was very professional, knowledgeable, and very passionate about helping people adapt and understand how to live a healthy lifestyle.

Kelly is very committed, dedication and focused. She has been by my side every step of the way. I feel that she really cares about me and this has been very beneficial to me. Although she is my coach, I view her as a role model and a friend. I feel that I can easily communicate with her, she has been educating me on how to eat and what to eat, and my relationship with food has improved tremendously. I am eating foods that make my body look better and I feel so much better about myself. This change has also helped my spouse and my child and around me in my work environment. Today, I have lost over 60 pounds! I am able to jog 3 miles easily and I am truly dedicated to going to the gym to work out. Kelly has shown me that food is used to fuel our bodies and I no longer eat food based upon my emotions. She is an awesome coach who you can trust and she will definitely stand by you every step of the way. I love my coach and I am so happy that she is a part of my life. I am still on a journey and receiving coaching services today! The work is not done.

Words cannot express my gratitude towards you for my lifestyle change experience. In the early part of 2015, my dear friend Crystal had suggested to me the use of a nutritionist to assist with my weight loss. I was hesitant at first, but after a visit with my doctor to discuss lab results; it was a must. Everything was sky high and I was pre-diabetic. I contacted Kelly immediately and was put on her waiting list. In June of 2015, I set out on a journey with Kelly that I was not sure I would be able to complete. In addition to my lab results, I was also dealing with Lupus. I believe I totally succumbed to this disease and let the effects takes control of my life. It may have been an excuse, but I had definitely given in. In April I was rear ended in a car accident and had four herniated disk 2 in my neck and 2 in my lower back.  This would prohibit my exercise that was part of my lifestyle change. Knowing that walking would help in my recovery and burn some of the calories, I made it a habit to get up and drive to the boardwalk at least three times a week. I quickly began to see the results and the pounds shed away at a consistent rate.

The food plans were not that bad, but the decision was already placed in my head to win. I worked with Kelly for four months, losing a total of 38lbs. As I recovered from my accident, I began to take indoor cycling classes. I quickly fell in love with it and set a goal to become an instructor. Well here it is in November and I have passed the first two phases of becoming an RPM Instructor. I have also retaken my labs and the results were astonishing. Far from pre-diabetic and everything else is below where it should be.
I continue to use Kelly to write out my meal plans and the lifestyle change has affected my entire family. My husband and I get up Monday - Friday at 430 to go the gym. I lift weights, go to group classes and of course go to cycling classes at least three times a week. He meets with his friend to workout. I meet up with my girlfriend some days and others I go it alone. I can truly say I am glad I began this journey. Looking back, I didn’t know how it would end or if I would make it. As the year ends I look at my goals for 2015 and I am amazed how I can check off the ones that have been on there each year – lose weight, exercise more and eat better. Now the goals for 2016…Spartan Run, take two advanced RPM certification course and pass this lifestyle change on to a friend. Why?….I am in it to WIN!!!

With Sincere Appreciation,

KKW has helped me in ways that nobody ever has been able to before. I have always struggled with body image. I tried fad after fad after fad, but nothing ever stuck. After having 3 kids and feeling frustrated with the current state of my body and the weight that I just couldn’t get rid of on my own, I contacted KKW. I started with a one time nutrition plan. It was great, but after a month or so I realized that I really needed the accountability so I signed up for their online coaching service. This was the best decision that I ever made. They taught me how to eat and have it become a lifestyle. There were no gimmicks or fades. IT included eating real food. My journey is still ongoing with them, but they have helped me lost 25 pounds in the past 10 months. I am about 5-10 pounds away from my goal and I have never been as comfortable in my own body as I am right now. I highly recommend KKW Wellness for anybody who has struggled in the past or currently with self body image or dieting struggles. I know that because of them, my life will never be the same!

I am 51, soon to be 52 years old and I have struggled with my weight for a good portion of my life. I have tried every “diet” out there with little to no success. That was until I joined the KKW family. It started a year ago with when I purchased a plan. I saw results but wanted more so I signed up for behavioral coaching about 6 months ago and all I can say is WOW! Kelly has given me my life back. I can honestly say I like the person I see when I look in the mirror. It was an investment but what better to invest in then my health.

Chelsey, what you've done for me has truly changed my life and I cannot thank you enough. You've changed my mind, my heart, the way I view myself, and what I can accomplish. I will forever been in your debt for what you have done for me. To be able to get dressed in the morning and smile at myself is a feeling that I haven't experienced in many, many years.

I am not done with my journey and will push on and never look back (except to admire how far I've come, I have made a lifestyle change that is truly reflective of both of you and the support you have provided me.

My KKW Journey Kim Gregory

I have always been "petite", a size 2, that is until I had children. Life took over and guess what ?..I began to put everyone else's needs before my own. I didn't even take notice until 14 years later and 20 pounds heavier. I had gotten into a rut! I developed bad habits. I was depressed but didn't know why. My husband came home from work one day and told me all about the research he had done and learned about KKW. He lifted me up in my time of need and we called Chelsey. I am not going to lie. I was not a happy camper the first two weeks. However, after I began to break bad habits and adopt a better lifestyle style I not only began to physically look better, I felt much better!

I began my journey in January of 2017 and it was one of the best if not the best decision I made in 2017. It was like a light switch was turned on. I feel like me again! It's not just about the weight. It has been a transformation of my mindset. I am sleeping better, I have more energy, and I can be the mom and wife my family deserves. If you are considering taking the plunge be like Nike and Just do it! You have nothing to lose and everything to gain ( not weight though!)
